Virgin Group Looks for Pacific Business

Paul Phelan , 9 July 2009 – 4:48 pmMake a Comment

V Australia has turned up the heat on competition for the transpacific premium traveller, with an offer of free door-to-door limo pickup and dropoff if you’re traveling on its top tier Business Flexi fare.

The chauffeur service will apply to both departing and arriving guests, but despite the enticing image there’ll be just the chauffeur, and you’ll still need to go through departure formalities and walk to the plane.

V Australia has already torn up the rulebook with a fully lie flat bed for its business customers with duvets and PJ’s, an in-flight sit down bar, an ‘eat what you want when you want’ menu, and user friendly touch screen in-flight entertainment system

The chauffeur service is available if you live within 60 km of the airport in Sydney, Brisbane or from any other Australian capital city if you’re connecting to a V Australia flight, or within a 50 mile radius from Los Angeles’ or San Francisco’s Airport if connecting to V Australia with Virgin America.

V Australia and Virgin Atlantic also yesterday announced a new unified loyalty programme agreement that allows travellers to earn points when flying on the networks of both airlines.

This is an add-on to the existing partnership between Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Blue which was launched in 2008 with the Virgin Blue Group of Airlines including Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue also linked to Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club.
