Morton to lead Boeing communications in Asia-Pacific

Paul Phelan , 3 February 2010 – 12:33 pmMake a Comment

Boeing today announced that its Sydney based communicator Ken Morton would assume responsibility for company communications across the Asia-Pacific region. He succeeds Mark Hooper, who returns to Seattle from Hong Kong to a senior role in Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Ken, who has been Director of Communications Australia-New Zealand since December 2000, will continue to be based in Sydney, NSW, and will transition into the new role by March 1, 2010.

“Our local communications presence in major world markets has been a critical factor in establishing Boeing as a truly global company,” said Charlie Miller, Vice President of International Corporate Communications for Boeing. “Our team in Japan, Korea, China, Singapore and India has built up great momentum, which Morton will continue to drive.”

A former journalist in New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, Morton’s career spans senior positions with British Airways and Air New Zealand, in addition to a consulting role with Cathay Pacific Australia.
