An AviationAdvertiser study has revealed growing nationwide alarm over the future of provincial, rural and capital city secondary airports. Not only airport users, but also community figures are now becoming more conscious of the malpractices and neglect that threaten existing airports that form a vital part of the national transport infrastructure. Airport users blame departmental inertia, indifference, and in some cases negligence, along with political don’t-want-to-know-about-it attitudes, to the plight of these airports.

The Latrobe Valley based manufacturer has won certification for the turbocharged variant of its eight-seat utility GA8 Airvan in Europe and the USA, and is already building a prototype turboprop GA10…

It is with great sadness that I announce that a great new friend and business partner of mine, Mr Tom Moon, was killed today in an accident during a practice air show display sequence at Temora. I first met Tom at the Coffs Harbor air show in 2008, and since then have enjoyed the many discussions we have shared regarding aviation, business and all things flying.
As many of you are aware, back in November 2008, I forwarded a letter to the Department of Transport, asking Minister Albanese for answers. Imagine my surprise when I received the anticipated yellow Australian Government envelope in the mail this week! As we know, Ministers do not write these letters personally, they rely on departmental officials (or in some cases political advisors) to draft them. My letter was apparently handed down…

Worldwide there has been an incredible light-sport manufacturing boom, reminiscent of the General Aviation glory days of the 1970’s and 80’s. Just a short hop from Sydney, some 40 mins flying time and you can find yourself at the home base of one of Australia’s newest LSA players.
